Carl Nargle (Owen Wilson) is a small town PBS network star with a show based on him painting (ala Bob Ross).
Carl has fame, not quite fortune, and any woman he wants….in the back of his van.
Not a nice guy, but, loveable in his own way.
Years ago, Carl found out that the local Art Museum does not have any paintings of a local landmark: Mt. Mansfield. So Carl dedicated his remaining years on the show painting Mt. Mansfield, with the hope of landing at least one of his paintings in the museum.
Carl’s Mt. Mansfield obsession lead to him becoming one dimensional, and boring, and as Carl aged in place…..things had to change.
After refusing to do two shows to help the station get out of debt, Carl was shocked to find that the station hired another painter….Ambrosia (Ciara Renee).
Ambrosia is not afraid to paint anything that touches her heart and feeds her passion.
She is anything but one-dimensional…..or boring…..or old.

Oh, it is NOT about Bob Ross even though Carl looks like him, and acts like him, and talks like him, and has hair like him.
Stay thru the credits to hear one of the best country singers ever….Don Williams. I was singing along! 🙂
