Movie Review: “Fingernails”

Couples who want to know if their love is true (and two sided) can go to the Love Institute, have a fingernail ripped off a finger (with all the pain that goes with that process), and have those fingernails tested to see if they are indeed in love.

The results of the test are in “levels of love”: 0% means you are not in love, 50% means one of you is in love, and 100% mean you are both in love!

3 years ago, Anna (Jessie Buckley) and Ryan (Jeremy Allen White) had their fingernails ripped off and tested.

Then why does Anna think she is in love with a guy, Amir (Riz Ahmed), at her new job at the Love Institute?

“Fingernails” is a quirky weird movie, with a terrific cast, that is both interesting and disturbing.

Lots of questions in this engineer’s brain about the efficacy of this fingernail test, but, since it is science fiction….I won’t spend anymore time on it.

But….I still wonder if, after 40+ years together, Lori and I should get re-tested…..
