Movie Review: “A Haunting in Venice”

It’s 1947 and world reknown detective, Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) is happily retired in Venice, Italy tending to his flower garden.

An old friend and famous mystery author (who mentioned Hercule in many of her books) Agath…….errr, Ariadne Oliver (Tina Fey), asks Hercule to attend a seance with the express intent to debunk the psychic, Joyce Reynolds (Michelle Yeah), holding the seance.

Halloween night, the seance begins and……

so do the murders!

“A Haunting in Venice” is different than the other recent Hercule Poirot movies (with Branagh in charge).

It is darker…..not set on a moving vehicle….and scarier! At one point Lori and I both screamed, waking up Blaze who gave us the dog version of Roy Kent’s….fuuuuuck, and went back to sleep. 🙂

Lots of spine tingling action and intrigue with a mystery that only the world’s best, retired, detective could figure out.
