“Karate Kid: Legends” Movie Review

Bejing: Li Fong (Ben Wang) is helping Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) teach Kung Fu to students in his school.

One day, Li’s mother, Dr. Fong (Fennic…..errr, Ming-Na Wen) tells him that they will be moving to New York City for her new position in a hospital there.

New York City: Even though Li promised his mom that he will not fight anymore (his brother died tragically after a match a year earlier) the fight finds him after he meets Mia Lipani (Sadie Stanley) and her father, Victor (Joshua Jackson).

Li, Mia

Teaching Victor kung fu, Li falls in love with Mia and meets her ex, the current New York City Karate Champion and major bully / asshole, Conor (Aramis Knight).

Li can either ignore Conor.

Or fight him.

Choosing to fight him in the “5 Boroughs” Karate Tounament, Li gets ready for the tournament with the help Mia, Victor, and….Mr. Han and….Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio)!

Then….

Oh, you can STREAM this movie on Netflix to see what happens. 🙂

“Karate Kid: Legends” is a much better movie than I expected! Fast-paced, action-packed with great fight sequences, a Hallmark-like love story, all with with a stellar cast. Love the tie-ins to the original “Karate Kid”.

FYI….we first “met” Ben Wang on Disney+ and watched this movie primarily because of him. 🙂

We LOVED it!
