“One Day” Movie Review

The reason I go to the movies, and read, is to be transported to a world not connected with reality.  A mini-vacation.  A state-of-mind where I can be an ape leading a revolution, a plain man learning how to pick up beautiful women, a skinny kid super hero, a chubby zookeeper talking with animals, and, yes, a dumb ass super male model with a goal to open a school for “kids who don’t read good”.

If I want to be depressed, I can watch the news, read the “About” page of this blog, or watch a Giants or Niners game.

I don’t want to go to the movies to get depressed.  “One Day” depressed me.

Anne Hathaway (as Emma) and Jim Sturgess (as Dexter) are both very good, especially Sturgess who is terrific playing a guy who falls to the depths of drug and alcohol abuse and then back.   Hathaway’s accent is grating, but, she is also very good in this part.  (Oh, I said that already).

If you like the state of depression…go see “One Day”.  Then comment below what you thought.

One huge, loud, F-word and some nudity.  Keep the kids away….they are naturally happy…keep them that way for as long as possible.

If you want to be depressed, it is cheaper to watch the news…or the Giants or Niners.

Drive Safe!  Never Forget.
