“Madagascar 3” Movie Review

(Fun for Kids, Snooze Worthy for Parents)

I want to snooze it snooze it….halfway through the movie I heard an unusual buzzing sound on my left.  I looked over and saw Lori snoring away!  I then looked around and saw several parents with tilted heads apparently, also, in sleep mode.  Very funny.  But…..the kids (and I) were having fun!  🙂

After six years the Madagascar team returns.  They finally get tired of waiting for the penguins to come save them, so they decide to swim to Monte Carlo and find the penguins at the casino (where they are having a ball!).

Wanting to get back home (to New York), the team hooks up with a travelling circus.  In fact, they buy the circus, and travel Europe in hopes of impressing someone who can invite them to perform in New York.

Problem is….they are being chased by a demented animal control agent who wants Alex’s (voiced by Ben Stiller) head on her wall.

Madagascar 3 is ok for kids but parents should drink some coffee or tea before entering the theater.  Those who were kids when the first Madagascar came out, probably won’t like this version.  Oh….watch for one near curse word (Bullsh****) that caused the whole audience to gasp out loud.

I liked the reference to “The Shawshank Redemption” (my favorite movie of all time), and if I watch Madagascar 3 again, I will pay more attention to other possible movie homages (I know “Born Free” is another….).

Go to IMDb for more information.  We watched this at the Tracy, CA CineMark where our poster is STILL UP (but, not for long, so we THANK the manager for keeping the poster up 6 times longer than he was supposed to!  He is AWESOME!!).

Drive Safe!  Never Forget.
