“Safe Haven” Movie Review
Julianne Hough (as Katie) flees Boston where she apparently stabbed a person to death. We don’t know who that person was, but, we do know she successfully eluded the police and ends up in a small North Carolina coastal town.
There, she meets handsome widower Alex (played by Josh Duhamel) and his kids. (Nicolas) Sparks fly between them and eventually they become an item. But, Katie is always looking over her shoulder for the police to come knocking on her door.
Katie meets a neighbor, Jo (Cobie Smulders), and the two become friends, confidants, and walking partners. Jo gives Katie advice on southern ways and encourages her to pursue things with Alex.
Katie’s past catches up to her….
“Safe Haven” is an interesting movie. Slower than we thought it would be, but, the ending is action packed with a surprise that will shock you out of your comfortable seat. OK for kids, but, with adult themes, they will be bored. Beautiful North Carolina scenery (if in fact it is NC).
