“Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding” Movie Review

3.5-Watertowers ForCarol.com Movie Reviews(Old Hippies Gettin’ High)

Diane’s (Catherine Keener) husband wants a divorce.

peace love and misunderstandingIn response, Diane takes her college age kids, Zoe (Elizabeth Olsen) and Jake (Nat Wolff), to visit her estranged mother, Grace (Jane Fonda), in Woodstock, NY.

The kids have never met grandma and are slightly taken aback at her being a died-in-the-wool pot smoking, free loving, hippie (hey, it IS Woodstock). Grace even protests the war, any war….talk about a stretch for Hanoi Jane. haha

Hanging out in Woodstock, Zoe finds a good looking butcher to hang with, movie making Jake finds a girl, and Diane hooks up with a handsome guy. Free love…..peace…..let’s smoke more dope and consult with the spirits.

Everything works out for the best at the end.

“Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding” is an ok movie. Not a waste of two hours, but, also not Oscar worthy. Fun. Jane Fonda (at 70+ years old) looks great in long hippie hair and tight blue jeans. One hot grandma. Not for kids.
