(Lies, Betrayal, Relationships)

Tom (Scott Porter) comes to Beth’s (Alexis Bledel) apartment after losing his wallet. He needs a place to stay for the night and to borrow some money. He can’t come up though because Alexis has someone with her, but, she does come down the stairs to give him some money and to tell him she is sorry.
We feel sorry for Tom as it appears he has been lied to and betrayed.
Six weeks earlier…..
We find out that Tom is a a hot shot Wall Street wheeler and dealer and has been dating Beth for a few months. They have not had sex yet and book lover Beth spends many nights alone or with her girl friends while Tom works.
One day at the bookstore, Beth meets fellow reader, Daniel (Bryan Greenberg), and there is an attraction. Little does she know that shy Daniel was just hired by Tom and is under his tutelage on the ways of Wall Street and women. Mostly women.
Beth invites Daniel to her weekly book club meeting, and, after some hesitation (and encouragement from Tom) he accepts.
“The Good Guy” is a somewhat interesting movie about relationships and how difficult it is to find the truth among the lies and deceit. Not for kids.
Go to IMDb for more information. We watched this on B-movie heaven, Netflix. Thanks, Ryan!
