“Labor Day” Movie Review

4-Watertowers ForCarol.com Movie Review(Prison Escapee Finds Love)

Adele (Kate Winslet) is suffering from depression since her husband, labor dayGerald (Clark Gregg), left her because she can no long have kids. Her teenage son, Henry (Gattlin Griffith), stays with her and helps her cope with her depression.

One day while shopping, Henry wanders off in the store to look at something and is approached by a bleeding man, Frank (Josh Brolin). Frank needs a ride….to their house…so he can rest for a few hours while his leg, which he hurt in a fall, gets better.

Only one problem: Frank is a prison escapee.

Although fearful of Frank at first, Henry and Adele soon find out that Frank is a decent guy wrongly accused of murder. Over the 5 day long Labor Day weekend, Frank fixes the car, cleans the furnace, teaches Henry how to play baseball, how to cook, and shows Adele what it is like to be loved.

But, Frank is a convicted killer on the run, and the authorities are bound to catch up.  Or do they?

“Labor Day” is a powerful movie with a stupendous cast. Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, and Gattlin Griffith make an unbeatable trio. The narrator is Henry as an adult, Tobey Maquire.
