Movie Review: “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”

4-Watertowers ForCarol.com Movie Review(Exciting Action Thriller)

Lady Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) practices fighting a robot in a simulated tomb in her house.  Because of the convergence of planets that only happens once every 5,000 years Lara will need all her skills.

While sleeping one night as the convergence is just starting, she hears a ticking clock. She finds that clock in a hidden room and breaks through the camouflage to the crux of the clock: The all seeing eye.

Not knowing exactly what this is, she seeks the advice of a trusted friend who puts her in touch with the Illuminati.  They need the seeing eye since it is a key to two parts of a triangle that when put together, at exactly convergence time, will grant the holder the ability to control time.

After the Illuminati steal the eye from her mansion, Lara finds a letter from her long lost dad (her real life dad, Jon Voight) tasking her with saving the world by destroying the triangle.

Off they go to far away lands and adventure.

After stealing one half of the triangle in Cambodia, Lara finds she needs the Illuminati (they now have the eye) and the Illuminati need Lara (because she has now acquired one half of the triangle).

An unlikely alliance forms as they head off to find the second triangle piece before the convergence.

“Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” is a fun “Indiana Jones” like movie with chills, thrills, adventure, and excitement. Angelina Jolie is terrific. Daniel Craig, before 007, has a medium sized part as a bad guy, sort of.  OK for kids even though there is at least one s*it word that I remember.

Go to IMDb for more information.  We watched this on Netflix. Thanks, Ryan!
