Alex (Jason Ritter) lies down in a tub full of water and slits his wrists.
Five of his friends hear the news and travel to Upstate NY to reunite when Alex comes home from the hospital. All of the friends have moved on with their lives and none of them had the time to acknowledge the subtle cries for help that Alex was tweeting.
But they all knew he was struggling.
Now freshly guilty for ignoring the pleas, the five self centered friends gather once again and re-live seven years ago when they all lived under one roof.
This time…..lives change, for better or worse, and old friendships are renewed.
“About Alex” is an interesting, albeit angst ridden, story of the real life tribulations of….well, living. Suicide is addressed as are sexuality, love, fear, friendship, and hope. Excellent ensemble cast. Not for kids.
