“Your Sister’s Sister” Movie Review

Jack’s (Mark Duplass) brother died one year ago. Jack is still suffering.

Friends have gathered for a memorial and Jack tells them they should honor the whole man, not just the idealized version of that man. Tom was, after all, imperfect in many ways, but, his friends and family still loved him.

That speech did not go over well and his best friend, and Tom’s ex, Iris (Emily Blunt) tells Jack he needs time by himself. She says he can chill out at her fathers remote island escape. Soooooo, Jack gets on his red bike, packs his backpack, and heads out to gather his thoughts in solitude.

Only one problem: Iris’s sister, Hanna (Rosemarie DeWitt) is there licking her wounds after leaving her girlfriend, then…..Iris unexpectedly shows up. Two sister’s and a guy….drama follows.

“Your Sister’s Sister” is a talking movie. Don’t watch it if you are expecting any action (other than 20 seconds of sex) or scenery (although there is some). If you enjoy watching people sit and talk….this movie is perfect for you. Nicely acted, but, the ending leaves you hanging.
