Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) and his wife, Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) are struggling one year after marriage.
They decide that they will return to a loving couple if they have a child. But….there are a couple of problems: Ted does not have a penis, and, as they search for alternatives, the adoption agency tells him he is not human, but, property.
To adopt, Ted must be recognized as human.
John (Mark Wahlberg) and Ted need find a lawyer that can work pro-bono.They succeed by finding newly graduated lawyer, Samantha (Amanda Seyfried), who is in above her head in this groundbreaking judicial effort.
But she is persistent.
In another plot line: If the courts declare Ted “property” rather than “human”, Hasbro (the toy company) is ready to swoop in grabbing Ted to autopsy him to find out how to make a million Ted’s. It’s all about the money…
“Ted 2” is a very funny movie filled with biting political and social commentary and inside movie jokes. For example, a life event is not real unless it is posted on Facebook with a hashtag. So funny!
The hilarity continues when the cast ends up at Comic-Con where Rick (Michael Dorn) dresses as….well……Worf, and, his gay lover, Guy (Patrick Warburton) dresses as…..well…..The Tick. Very funny!
When Amanda Seyfried goes eyeball-to-eyeball with the similarly endowed Gollum…..I was crying with laughter…..
Watch for a number of cool cameos (hilarious), and wait all the way thru the credits for a funny bit at the end. We watched the UNRATED version. Lots of F-words, sex, porn, and drug use. Not for kids.
