“Max” Movie Review

3.5-Watertowers ForCarol.com movie reviews(Service Dog Comes Home)

Max, a German Shepard, is a Marine service dog based in Afghanistan.

maxHe leads the way making sure all is safe up ahead. One day, Max stops the squad, but, the squad leader, Tyler Harne (Luke Kleintank), tells Max’s handler, Kyle Wincott (Robbie Amell) to move Max along.

An ambush kills Kyle and traumatizes Max.

Back in the USA for Kyle’s funeral, Max shows his devotion by lying near the casket. Unfortunately, Max is fearful of everyone and will be put down….until he meets Kyle’s little brother, Justin (Josh Wiggins).

Max likes Justin and the family takes him in saving his life. But all is not roses as life takes some nasty turns as Tyler, now home with an “administrative” discharge, proves to be a gun runner and potential killer.

“Max” is a good kids movie where dog and bike riding teens catch the bad guys and save the world. Well, not exactly, but, Lori loved it and went thru a box of tissues watching it, so be forewarned….if you love dogs, you will cry. In fact, the director goes out of his (or her) way to make you cry….that turned me off.
