“Daddy’s Home” Movie Review
Brad Whitaker (Will Ferrell) is a nice guy. As a new step-dad, Brad goes out of his way to be involved in his new kids lives both during school and after hours.
As the new family grows closer the unexpected happens. Biological father, Dusty (Mark Wahlberg), shows up with the intentions of taking back the family, and wife, he abandoned. Dusty is every bit the mans man that Brad is not. Handy around the house, muscular, tough, with a huge…..well, you know. He is a master manipulator and player.
The competition is on to see who wins the Daddy race. Fortunately, as Brad’s opening monologue states; “there is a difference between a father and a dad”.
“Daddy’s Home” is a very funny movie with EXTREMELY funny parts that will make you expel any food or drink you may have in your mouth (yes…I expelled…haha). Wahlberg and Ferrell make a good team. They are comfortable with each other since they have collaborated in the past. Bloodline’s Linda Cardellini is quietly wonderful. OK for the family except the really young.
Worth the time and money.
