(Twisty Thriller)
Helene McCready (Amy Ryan) tells everyone she visited her neighbor for about 30 minutes after putting her baby Amanda (Madeline O’Brien) to bed.
When she returned home, Amanda was gone. Kidnapped.
Helene’s sister-in-law freaked out and called the police, the news outlets, and eventually she and her husband hired local native and private detective, Patrick Kenzie (Casey Affleck), to augment the police investigation.
What Patrick finds is as twisty as a hot pretzel.
The cops (Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman) may or may not be on the take, the mother really does not give a crap that Amanda is missing, but, maybe she does (she is a drug addict), then Amanda dies….or does she?
Lies, lies, and more lies.
Patrick needs to sort through the hot mess and do what he thinks is the right thing to do, even though his partner in business and life, Angie (Michelle Monaghan) may not agree….or maybe she does?
Rated R for gross murders, f-words, and drug use. Not for kids. Ben Affleck directed.
