“Criminal” Movie Review

(Memory Dump)

The Dutchman (Michael Pitt) is a hacker who has figured out a way to control all the weapons in the USA’s arsenal. He is willing to sell his knowledge to the highest bidder.

To avert a World War, CIA operative Bill Pope (Ryan Reynolds), arranges to meet The Dutchman at a secret location with a suitcase full of cash. Unfortunately, Pope is murdered before the exchange (money for knowledge) can be made.

The CIA needs to know where The Dutchman is and resort to an experimental operation where the dead man’s memories are loaded into a living human.

The human they pick is a hard-care criminal….Jerico Stewart (Kevin Costner), who promptly escapes with these new memories and knowledge of where the money is. Unfortunately for Jerico, his new memories also give him a conscience, and lead him to Pope’s wife, Jill (Gal Gadot…Wonder Woman!) and daughter, Emma (Lara Decaro).

“Criminal” is an excellent thriller with action and intrigue galore. Costner makes a great bad guy with a new soft side. Not for kids, but, a fun time for adults who can spend the time working out the details (it is a bit complicated).
