“The Shallows” Movie Review

(Nerve Wracking)

Nancy’s (Blake Lively) mother recently passed away. Nancy is honoring her memory by visiting a beach where her mother surfed while pregnant with Nancy.

The beach is virtually deserted (except for two surfer dudes), but, Nancy is brave (foolish) and decides to surf.

Everything goes as expected until Nancy decides to catch one last wave before calling it a day. The two guys leave.

That is when she is bitten by a shark and her night of terror begins.

“The Shallows” is tense and nerve wracking. Lori did not like it, but, I did. Bloody, vicious, and terrifying. I heard they filmed much of the movie in a huge tank with green screens all around and a CGI great white shark. If that is true (no reason to believe it is not) then Blake Lively did one amazing job of acting.  🙂  And she does not look a day older…. 😉

PG-13 but rough for younger kids and the squeamish.
