“The International” Movie Review

(Gripping Thriller)

Interpol Agent Louis Salinger (Clive Owen) and an Investigator for the NYC District Attorney’s Office, Eleanor Whitman (Naomi Watts), are on an assignment to take down the IBBC Bank.

The IBBC is a huge global bank that has moved to the dark side.  If a country, or organization, needs banking, or small arms weapons, while keeping their transactions top secret and away from government or law enforcement’s prying eyes, they know they can rely on the IBBC.

Anyone who dares to turn on the IBBC dies.

Salinger and Whitman are getting close to breaking the case wide open. In doing so, they are now the targets of IBBC and must win……or die.

To see what happens, you will have to watch the move, but, don’t expect a great happy ending, as we learn that corruption at this level will never be stopped.

“The International” is a terrific thriller. It unfolds like a book, slowly, methodically, then the action builds to a bloody shootout at the Guggenheim Museum, and climaxes in an OMG WTF ending on the rooftops in Istanbul, Turkey (in fact, the locations are spectacular: Italy, Germany, New York, France, and Turkey).  Reading the newspaper clippings at the very end tell the moral of the story. Not for kids or the squeamish as it is bloody and violent.

But, damn, it is good!
