“10 Things I Hate About You” Movie Review

Katarina Stratford (Julia Stiles) is a stick in the mud curmudgeon who prefers to stay at home and be by herself.

Her sister, Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), is just the opposite, bubbly, and flirty, ready to date.

Their father, Walter (Larry Miller) is a Doctor who sees everyday the results of dating, and tells Bianca that she can only date when Kat dates.  A sure way to keep both his daughters out of trouble….so he thinks.

Cameron James, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, likes Bianca, but, can’t date her, so he and Michael Eckman (David Krumholtz) hatch a plan to bribe bad boy Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) to ask Kat out so Cameron can go out with Bianca.

Problem is…..well, you will just have to see the movie to see what happens.

“10 Things I Hate About You” is a very good movie with an amazing, almost legendary, (in the future) cast.  This is Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” 1999 style.

A bit of trivia from IMDb:

“Both Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt would later appear in director Christopher Nolan‘s Dark Knight Trilogy, Ledger as The Joker in The Dark Knight (2008) and Gordon-Levitt as the character Blake who, at the end of The Dark Knight Rises (2012), is implied to take over crime fighting in Gotham City as Robin, following Bruce Wayne’s retirement as Batman. A still from 10 Things I Hate About You of Ledger and Gordon-Levitt in the cafeteria together with the caption “That moment, when you find out the Joker and Robin went to high school together” would go viral soon after The Dark Knight Rises was released.”
