“Trolls” Movie Review
20 years ago, on Trollstice the Trolls escaped the Troll-eating Bergen. This is the only day of the year the Bergen can feel happiness (by eating the always happy Trolls), and their day was ruined.
20 years later, the Trolls have been living an idyllic existence, when their future Queen, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) decides to throw a very large, very loud party. Cautious Troll, Branch (Justin Timberlake) warns against this party but, since he has done this numerous times in the past with no results, everyone ignore him.
Well, this time the Bergens find them and plan another Trollstice Troll eating party.
Poppy and her team of Trolls try to figure out how not to be eaten.
“Trolls” is a weird premise for a kids movie. Eating Trolls to be happy for one day? Seriously? Seriously terrible. Who’s demented mind thought this would make a fun movie? And it made money! OMG, the world we are living in…..dark times.
On the other hand, the music is fantastic. And watch for homages to other movies: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fast and Furious, and more….
