“Sandy Wexler” Movie Review
Sandy Wexler (Adam Sandler) is a less than capable talent agent with a “stable” of limited talent artists under his wing. His one big regret was losing his first client, Alfred, after he became famous.
Renting a mansion from Firuz (Rob Schneider)…..yes….Rob Schneider is in this movie!….Sandy watches his friend’s kids (in real life, they are his wife and daughters) for the afternoon by taking them to Magic Mountain.
At the park, Sandy stops to listen to a singer, Courtney Clarke (Jennifer Hudson), in a show as she stuns the audience with her abilities. As a talent agent, Sandy , wants to represent her and approaches her after the show.
One thing leads to another and Courtney becomes the next huge star, but she never forgets who made this all possible.
In “Sandy Wexler” Adam Sandler reboots his Waterboy stupid voice, but, over the course of the movie, Sandy tugs at your heartstrings as we find out that he is a manager of talent who truly cares about his people (even if he is a bit incompetent). Rob Schneider has a small part! Did I say that already? 😉 If you love Adam Sandler, like we do, this is a good movie, no Oscars here, but, ultimately it is a fun, and touching, movie.
