Carrie Pilby (Bel Powley) is a gifted child who attended Harvard at 14 and graduated at 18.
But being gifted does not mean Carrie has the abilities to navigate the complexities of life and relationships. She over-thinks everything (we know, we have one…..and lost one 😦 see the picture over there ——>).
With the help of her therapist, Dr. Petrov (Nathan Lane), who gives her a list of items to follow to help her understand various aspects of living, Carrie sets off to complete the list, even though she is skeptical of it working.
Make a Friend, Get a Pet, Go on a Date, Attend a New Years Eve Party, Read a Favorite Book (“Fanny and Zooey” by J.D. Salinger) are a few of the list items she must complete.
What follows is a heartwarming story of a young, intellectually gifted, but not life-smart, girl finding her way….and herself.
“Carrie Pilby” is an excellent movie for a quiet night at home.
