Nadine (Hailee Steinfeld) and Krista (Haley Lu Richardson) have been best friends since about kindergarten.

Growing up, they provided each other support and friendship no matter what happens to them in life.  Divorce, death, angst, whatever….they were there for each other.  Until……Krista falls in crush with Nadine’s brother, Darien (Blake Jenner).

Nadine breaks off her friendship with Krista (hmmm, sounds familiar) for some stupid reason pertaining to Krista and Darian going out, and her life spirals so far into a sea of teenage angst that she actually thinks about committing suicide.

Luckily, a shy boy, Erwin (Hayden Szeto) and caring teacher, Mr. Bruner (Woody Harrelson) are there to steady Nadine’s ship.

“The Edge of Seventeen” is a nice movie showing how difficult it is to make it through the teenage years……as we know, all too well, sometimes you don’t. ;-(
