Denis Cooverman (Paul Rust) is the valedictorian of his graduating class. Agonizing over his graduation speech, he decided to say what he has always wanted to say, but, was afraid. After all…..this is going to be his last chance.
“I Love You, Beth Cooper”
Beth Cooper (Hayden Panettiere) is the head cheerleader and most popular girl in school. She actually thought it was nice for him to do this, but, being a teenager, she and her friends thought it would also be “fun” to dork with Denis for awhile.
In what turned out to be the best night of Denis’s life, and an eye opening night for Beth, the two, along with their friends, spend a wild night running from Beth’s old boyfriend….and learning a little about life.
“I Love You, Beth Cooper” is a nice brainless movie. The first part is quite boring, but, it picks up speed and actually turns out to be a good life lesson by the time it is over. We all know people like Beth and Denis: Beth’s life peaked in high school (and she knows it), while Denis’s future is unlimited. And it turns out that he really did not love Beth Cooper, he only loved the idea of Beth Cooper.
