“Goodbye Christopher Robin” Movie Review

Famous London playwright, Alan (A.A. Milne, Domhall Gleason) returned from fighting in WW I with a bit of post traumatic stress.  The slightest pop or bang or bright light could set off an episode within Alan that normally took a few minutes to subside.

Deciding to leave the bright lights and noise of London for the countryside, Alan and his wife, Daphne (Margot Robbie), purchase a country home settled inside a 100 acre woods.  Although the episodes do not stop, they are less frequent and Alan feels well enough to get back to writing.

Then Christopher Robin (Will Tilson) is born, and the whole world changes.

“Goodbye Christopher Robin” is the story of how Winnie the Pooh and gang came to be and how their fame changed the real life family.  Domhall Gleason, Margot Robbie, Will Tilson, and Nanny (Olive, Kelly MacDonald) are all terrific.  I am surprised there are no Oscar nominations…..there should be. Great for the whole family, especially those who love Winnie the Pooh.  🙂
