After his father was killed in a blast in Captain America: Civil War, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) has become king of Wakanda.
Wakanda is a technologically advanced country thanks to vibranium, the strongest metal in the world (Captain America’s shield is made from a piece of vibranium that Tony Stark’s dad got from Wakanda) and also, seemingly, the most versatile, and, more importantly, really smart people like T’Challa’s techy/nerd sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright).
Bad guy, Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis), has stolen some vibranium to sell to the outside world, and T’Challa now as King is in charge of finding Klaue and bringing him to justice.
Ain’t gonna happen.
What does happen is……oh, you have probably already seen the movie, and if not, you should, it’s terrific. 🙂
We had no clue who the Black Panther was except that he popped up in Civil War (you got it, I have not followed the comics, I let down nerds everywhere…shame on me). BUT……now we know and are better prepared to watch Avengers: Infinity War in a couple of weeks.
We loved the story, the action, and the technology…….especially the technology (cloaking, energy enhancing suits, remotely driven cars and jets, medical advances that can save someone close to death, holographic videoconferencing in the palm of your hand……and so much more).
Great movie with a terrific cast and plot. Needless to say, this nerd (TechyMike.com) thinks Shuri rocks (sure hope she survives the next movie).
There are two credit scenes….one immediately after the movie is over, and the other all the way at the end where we learn the fate of an old friend.
