“What If” Movie Review

Wallace (Harry….errr, Daniel Radcliffe) was a med student doing rounds at the hospital when he walked in on his fiance doin it with another doctor.  Oooops….

379 days later, Wallace is no longer in med school and is still pining for his lost love (he dumped her). Sitting on the roof of his sisters house, looking over Toronto, he finally removes his ex from his phone.

Time to move on…..

At a party given by his college roommate Allan (Adam Driver),  Wallace is happily re-arranging the magnetic words on the refrigerator when he meets Chantry (Zoe Kazan) who is friendly, but, not really interested in Wallace, or in the party.  Interestingly, Allan and Nicole (Mackenzie Davis) meet at exactly the same time (at the fridge) and the attraction between them is immediate.

You never know when the right person comes along……

Walking Chantry home that night leads to more friendly meetings as she enjoys walking and talking with Wallace, but, she is still not attracted to him sexually. And, besides, she has a boyfriend.  Over time, Chantry suggests that they officially enter the dreaded “friend-zone” from which no one ever emerges. 😉

OK, sure, the “friend-zone” it is, as Wallace decides that that is better than the “no-zone” as he enjoys walking and talking with her too.

Do you think the “friend-zone” will last?  To find out, you will have to watch the movie. 🙂

“What If” is a fun romcom with a terrific cast. Think of it as a crunchy Hallmark movie.

Worth the rental cost and a couple hours of your time.
