“The Meg” Movie Review
Ex-Navy deep sea diver, Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), is lured out of retirement / exile to help save his ex-wife and deep sea submarine captain, Lori (Jessica McNamee).
Lori and her dive crew took their submersible deeper than anyone has ever gone, testing a theory that the floor of the Marianas Trench is actually a cloud and that penetrating that cloud will bring the divers into a never explored undersea world.
Until they are attacked, and their ship disabled, by an enormous 75 foot shark…..the, thought to be extinct, Megalodon.
In the process of being saved by researcher Suyin (Bingbing Li) and Jonas (in separate submersibles) the rescue team inadvertently opens up a thermal pathway for the Megalodons (yes, plural) to rise to the surface and wreck havoc on the human population.
Yikes! Sharks attack….B-I-G sharks attack.
To see what happens, you will need to go see the movie. 🙂
“The Meg” is a great action packed 2 hour diversion from the cruel world we find ourselves living in. Statham rocks as always and, in this movie, he is in his element as the world class swimmer / diver that he was…….the water. The little kids sitting next to us enjoyed it, but, truthfully, we would not have taken Kristen to see it when she was their age as it is a bit bloody and quite violent.
