“Night School” Movie Review
Teddy Walker (Kevin Hart) is having a hard time passing his classes in high school.
One day, when preparing to take a standardized test, Teddy flips out and leaves the room telling everyone he is going to make it on the outside….by himself. No need for a High School diploma.
17 years later we see Teddy driving a Porsche with his girlfriend, Lisa (Megalyn Echikunwoke), by his side. Damn….Teddy is doing great!
Or so we think.
Sure, Teddy is a great BBQ salesman, but, he is deep in debt trying to keep Lisa from knowing that he is just faking it. He is a great salesman after all.
Well, one day, Teddy’s world literally blows up and he is forced to find another job for which he needs a high school GED.
That’s when he meets the “Night School” teacher, Carrie (Tiffany Haddish) who changes Teddy’s life forever.
“Night School” is a dreadful, but very funny, movie with a great message about friendship, love, and never giving up reaching for your goals even with all sorts of roadblocks in your way.
Kevin Hart is a favorite of ours. Tiffany Haddish and the supporting cast (ie the Night School classmates) are also fantastic.
