“The Christmas Chronicles” Movie Review
Doug (Oliver Hudson) and Claire Pierce (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) make it a point to celebrate Christmas every year as their kids, Teddy (Judah Bona) and Kate (Darby Camp), are growing up.
The Pierce family are true believers.
Unfortunately, Christmas 2018 is different than all the others since Doug has passed away doing his job as a fireman.
Claire has to work long hours at the hospital, leaving Teddy in charge of Kate, but, Teddy wants to go out with his wanna-be-criminal friends, steal cars, drink beer, and otherwise get into a load of trouble. Kate films him one time and uses that tape to keep Teddy, more or less, in line.
On Christmas Eve, Claire has to go to work again, and Kate convinces Teddy that Santa is real and that they should setup a camera system to catch him in the act.
Santa is really Kurt Russell (who knew?) and Christmas Eve turns into a wild night for Santa, eight reindeer, a bunch of elves, and most of all, Teddy and Kate.
“The Christmas Chronicles” is a fun movie with lots of action and several tear-inducing moments. I guessed who Mrs. Santa was gonna be way in the beginning of the movie….can you?
