Nate (Owen Wilson), Isabel (Julia Roberts), and 4 year old Via (Izabela Vidovic) are very happy to welcome a new baby boy into their family.
Immediately after delivery, the doctors rushed the baby out of the delivery room….something was wrong.
27 operations, and about 10 years later, Auggie (Jacob Tremblay) has out-grown his mother’s home-schooling abilities (especially in Science) and will be entering middle school.
Auggie and his parents and sister are more than a bit concerned about him being on his own around kids who can be cruel to someone with “facial differences”.
But he is going to try his best.
Not everything goes smoothly, but, with the help of his mom, dad, and more importantly, his sister, Auggie eventually makes friends at school and learns that the outside world can accept him as…..well, Auggie.
“Wonder” is a terrific, heartwarming, movie about being “different” and learning how to deal with life’s ups and downs.
