“Beautiful Boy” Movie Review

Nic Sheff (Timothee Chalamet) has a drug problem. A much worse drug problem than his father, David (Steve Carell), knew or wanted to admit.

Learning as much as he could about drugs, their effects on the body, and how he can help his son, David tries for years to help.

But Nic keeps slipping back from sobriety into drugs and each time he slips, he slips further than the last time. If Nic keeps going like this, he will die, and there is nothing David can do.

Eventually, David stops helping.

To see how addiction can tear a a family apart, watch “Beautiful Boy”.  It is a horrifying, deeply disturbing, movie based on real-life books written by both David and Nic Sheff. Oscar worthy performances by Carell and Chalamet.
