“Dora and the Lost City of Gold” Movie Review

Dora (Madelyn Miranda (age 6) and Isabela Moner (teenager)) was raised and educated in the jungle by her parents, Elena (Eva Longoria) and Cole (Michael Pena), two university professors and explorers.

Elena and Cole are searching for the Lost City of Gold when Dora proves to them that she needs to grow up a bit more by getting lost only to be saved by Boots (her friend the monkey).

Dora is sent to live with her relatives in Los Angeles where she is reunited with her cousin (who lived in the jungle until he was 6), Diego (Malachi Barton (age 6) and Jeff Walberg (teenager), who is now highly embarrassed by Dora who is just being herself and is now the smartest student in High School.

Dora was keeping in touch with her parents as they closed in on the Lost City of Gold when suddenly they stopped communicating. Worried but not able to do anything, luckily, Dora, Diego and two friends were kidnapped to be brought back to the jungle to help the bad guys find her parents and the gold!

What happens next is……

Oh, to find out, you will have to go see the movie! 🙂

“Dora and the Lost City of Gold” is a fun, funny, exciting adventure for kids. It is based on the cartoons “Dora the Explorer” and pull in many of the cool learning experiences from that cartoon. Unfortunately, the Tracy, CA CineMark theater we were in (theater 5) had severe audio problems which kinda ruined the movie for us, but, CineMark gave us all free tickets for a future movie.

We plan on watching Dora again when it comes out in streaming. 🙂
