Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is feeling age, and responsibility, creeping up on him. He silently suffers from migraines from multiple concussions, is now married to Leah (Piper Perabo), and, they have an infant girl.
Mike knows that President Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) will be asking him to be the Director of the Secret Service when David Gentry (Lance Reddick) retires, but, he still wants to be active, not stuck behind a desk.
One day while protecting Trumbull while he is fishing, Banning’s world comes crashing down as terrorists launch a drone attack on the President.
Everyone dies except Trumbull and Banning.
Because he survived the attack, and because there is $10 million in an offshore bank account in his name, and because snippets of communication between Banning and the Russians are unearthed: Mike Banning went from Director-To-Be of the Secret Service to the main suspect in the attempted assassination of President Trumbull, and is arrested.
Yikes!
But wait……..is Mike being framed? Or did he just have enough and decided to go for the gold? Or is he going crazy?

“Angel Has Fallen” is movie #3 in the Mike Banning series, and it is an action packed, fun, and scary thriller with surprises galore (except for Lori. who knew who all the bad people were way before the rest of us mortals did). Nick Nolte kicks ass at 78 years old! 🙂
