Ethan (Dennis Quaid) is getting old.
His son died in a car crash, and his daughter-in-law, Gloria (Betty Gilpin), is not the best mother in world to her daughter, CJ (Kathryn Prescott).
Before Bailey (voiced by Josh Gad) dies, Ethan asks that he look after CJ in his next lives.
Bailey agrees…..then he dies and comes back as a girl, Molly.
CJ and Molly hook up and fall in love. Molly does her best to protect CJ (also learning how to detect cancer in people), then, Molly dies……
To see how many more dogs die and come back to find CJ, and, eventually, reconnect with Ethan….you will have to suffer thru this movie.
Lori liked “A Dog’s Journey” but I did not. We have had to suffer through Rhody, Pumpkin, and Sunny’s deaths and are just happy that Blaze is still young and full of energy. Watching this movie is torture. I don’t care about the “message”…..it sucks having a member of your family die all the time…..and who needs to cry constantly during a movie? Not me.
