“Noelle” is an instant Christmas classic, released Nov 12, 2019 on Disney+, that we will watch over and over again for years to come, joining “Elf”, “White Christmas”, and, of course, “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
Nick (Bill Hader) and Noelle (Anna Kendrick) and Gabriel (Billy Eichner) Kringle are the children of Santa (Jay Brazeau) and Mrs. (Julie Hagerty) Claus.
Gabriel is the head of technology.
Noelle is in charge of Christmas spirit and Christmas cards.
Nick will be the next Santa.
Problem is, when Santa dies, Nick proves himself to be totally incompetent and, truthfully, he finally has to admit that he does not want the job.
Nick can’t tell who is naughty or nice, he can’t go down the chimney (he is claustrophobic), he is not able to communicate with those who do not speak or speak English, he can’t land the sleigh.
In short, Nick requires a lot of work by those training him! 🙂

One day at the cafe, Noelle tells the stressed out Nick to take the weekend off in some tropical paradise, just to get his head together for the holiday season.
He takes her advice, and then some. He completely disappears.
With no choice, the elder elves give the job to Gabriel (they misunderstood the Santa selection rules) who promptly narrows the list of “Nice” kids to slightly over 2,000 while emailing the rest a note to get their act together.
To see what happens, you will have to see the movie. (Grab a free week of Disney+ here).
“Noelle” is both funny and heartwarming. Make sure you have tissue handy at the end. Anna Kendrick is PERFECT. Her comic timing is impeccable, in fact, her riff (which seems to be improvised) on sunscreen is side-splitting hilarious. A must see Christmas movie for the whole family. And and new Christmas tradition for us.
“I want an iPad”…….soooo, funny! 🙂

Only 3 days left of our free week of Disney+ which I think will change the world.
