“Second Act” Movie Review and Trailer

Maya (Jennifer Lopez) has been working at a local store for over 15 years. Because of her work, sales are way up, and lots of her innovative ideas are bringing in happy and engaged members of the community.

She is being considered for the lead position, but, does not get it because she does not have a college degree.

Bummer.

Not to be discouraged, she somehow got an interview at top cosmetics firm and nails it, even though she kinda pisses off the Vice President, Zoe (Vanessa Hudgens), by simply telling the truth.

Suck it up, Zoe.

Leaving her old job, Maya finds out that her friend’s, Joan (Leah Remini), son faked an online presence for her and lied in a fake resume about her education, background, and other really bad stuff that you never do to get a job.

To make matters worse, Maya did not fess up before she took the job…..and then kicked ass while there.

Along the way:

Maya found out who Zoe is….

And fessed up to the fake resume…..

Then…..

Oh, to find out what happens, you will have to stream the movie somewhere (we streamed it during Comcast’s free week).

“Second Act” is a fun movie with a message: First is to be yourself, and secondly, you do not need a college degree to kick some butt in the corporate world, or, in the world in general. Right, Bill (Gates)? 🙂
