Emma Woodhouse (Anya Taylor-Joy) never had to worry about money, working, carrying her own light, or picking her own flowers. Her life was easy, leaving her time to play matchmaker.
Mr. Knightley is a family friend of the Woodhouse’s and hangs around the castle just as much as he does his own castle….I wonder why? 😉
As a matchmaker, Emma was rather successful!
Her most recent triumph, much to her father’s, Mr. Woodhouse (Bill Nighy), chagrin is setting her governess up with some dude she is now marrying….and moving out.
Poor Mr. Woodhouse will have to do things by himself. So sad.

Emma’s best friend, Harriet (Mia Goth), is seeking true love and Emma is on the job.
The local Reverand proposed to Harriet, but, Emma and Harriet decided to turn him down.
But not to worry……Emma is working hard to match all of her friends up, and Harriet is #1 on her list.
Assuming she does not mess everything up for her and Harriet.
To see what happens, and who all hook up, you will have to stream the movie. We streamed it on Fandango Now in glorious 4K UHD.
“Emma.” is a fun movie that unfolds like the novel it is based on (“Emma” by Jane Austen). THAT drove Lori nuts as we are given small pieces at a time during the movie, climaxing only at the end (sounds familiar….). Needless to say….this avid reader loved it, while Lori did not.
From Wikipedia:
“Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich, with a comfortable home and a happy disposition…and had lived nearly twenty-one years in the world with very little to distress or vex her.” —–Jane Austen
