“Military Wives” Movie Review and Trailer




Being a military family involves extended tours of duty for your loved ones. In this case, the military wives are embarking on another long stretch at home, on the base, while their loved ones are sent to Afghanistan.

Some of them may not come back.

The existing Military Wives Club was seeking out some new things to do to keep the wives minds off of the war, and the possible consequences.

Drinking is dominant: Knitting….and drinking. Watching movies…..and drinking. Reading books….and drinking.

Then one person suggested they sing.

What a great idea….they will form a choir.

Taking charge, Kate (Kristin Scott Thomas) and Lisa (Sharon Horgan) couldn’t be more different in their approach, and the two fight often on how best to coalesce the choir members into a harmonious group.

“Military Wives” is a good movie based on a true story with some sad moments and some moments of pure exhilaration. It is definitely not a comedy as advertised.
