Amber Appleton (Auli’i Cravalho) is an upbeat talented high school senior who has just been offered an audition for admission at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama.
Amber works at a donut shop and an old age home in addition to going to school and helping the less fortunate there.
What others don’t know is that….
Amber lost her dad several years ago, is homeless, and lives with her alcoholic mother in a school bus.
But despite her own troubled life…..
Amber loves and cares for her aging dog, and everyone else but herself.
A string of tragedies strike and Amber must learn to accept the help of others (including her group of best friends…see picture above).
You can watch this movie on Netflix.
“All Together Now” is a sometimes brutal real-life depiction of homelessness, alcoholism, and…..perseverance. Not a fun movie, but, powerful and, ultimately, heartwarming and hopeful.
