“From the Vine” Movie Review

Automotive executive, Marco Gentile (Joe Pantoliano), promised his mentor to always do the right thing…from the heart.

When it came time to give a speech on the state-of-the-company, the bored (sic) of directors made changes to Marco’s presentation and Marco was at an inflection point…..do what is in his heart…..or do what the directors want.

That night, while cooking dinner, Marco tells his wife that they are booked on a one-way flight to his hometown in Italy…Acerenza…to visit his grandfather’s vineyard.

Not having any of this, Marina (Wendy Crewson) and their daughter, Laura (Paula Brancati) try to convice Marco that this is a really stupid idea.

But he is not convinced and…….

Once there, Marco reunites with childhood friends, Luca (Marco Leonardi) and Amelia (Rita del Piano), and finds out that the family vineyard is being tended by Marcello (Tony Nardi) and is really nice even 20 years after his grandfather’s death. Marcello even makes a case or two of wine from the vineyards for his own consumption…..and for Enzo (Tony Nappo) a squatter on the property.

One thing leads to another, and……

Oh, to find out what happens, you will have to watch the movie on Amazon Prime.

“From the Vine” is a wonderful, heartwarming, quirky movie about holding true to your heart, keeping promises, and doing the right thing……for YOU. Terrific cast, beautiful scenery, and great one liners:

“Are you purple…….everywhere?”
