“Nightbooks” Movie Review



Alex (Winslow Fegley) loves to write short horror stories in his nightbook.

Overhearing his parents one night, Alex does not like what he hears, gets angry, and with all his writing he heads to the basement boiler room….

…to burn eveything.

But he never gets there.

The elevator stops a few floors down and lets Alex out. He wanders down the hall to the sound of a TV and stops in the aprartment to watch it and have a piece of pie left there on a small table.

Alex wakes up to find that he has been kidnapped by an evil witch, Natacha (Krysten Ritter) and she wants him to give her something of value, or he will die.

Alex offers a scary story evey night, and she agrees to let him live.

For now.

A short time later, Alex runs into Yasmin (Lidya Jewett) who has survived for three years with her wits, smarts, and guts. All the other kids who have been there stand on the shelf as ceramic “dolls”.

Yikes!

The two teens form a team and……

“Nightbooks” is a fun kids horror movie. It is rated PG-13 so most of the family can watch it, even though it is a bit violent at times. Jessica…..err, Krysten rocks!
