“Work It” Movie Review

Quinn Ackerman (Sabrina Carpenter) is doing everyhting she can in high school to get into the college of her dreams: Duke (her late dad’s alma mater).

One of Quinn’s extracurricular activites is to run the lights for the high school’s championship damce team, the Thunderbirds, led by arrogant, self centered, Julliard Pembroke (Keiynan Lonsdale).

One night….Quinn spilled coffee or hot chocolate all over the lighting controller causing a fire on stage and disrupting practice.

She was cancelled!

At her first Duke interview, Quinn tells the recruiter that she is on the dance team! Oooops.

The recruiter loved it and told Quinn she will see her at the Work It compettition.

Now Quinn had to learn to dance……yikes!

With help from her best friend, Jasmine (Liza Koshy), Quinn learns a lot, but, not quite enough to make the Thunderbird team. Sooooo…..

She decides to start her own dance team, with Jasmine as the lead dancer, and both of them find “diamonds in the rough” to round out the rest of the team.

The TBD Dance Team: Chris, Raven, Robby, Jasmine, Jake, Quinn, DJ, Priya

Oh, to find out what happens, you can watch this movie on Netflix. 🙂

“Work It” is a fun coming of age movie with a bunch of ex-Disney kids dancing and generally having a great time.
