For 1,000 years, Xu Wenwu (Tony Chiu-Wai Leung) ruled the world and took what he wanted thanks to eternal life and super powers granted him by the ten rings.
One day, Xu Wenwu decided to conquer a mythical land Ta Lo where he was met by Li (Fala Chen) who promptly defeats the all-powerful Xu, then the two fall in love. Who knew? 😉
Leaving her power behind, Li takes off with Xu (who also gives up his power….i.e. the ten rings) to start a family and live a “normal” life.
Years later, Shaun (Simu Liu) and his best friend, Katy (Awkwafina), are happily working as parking attendents when, on the way home they are attacked by thugs in a bus.
Shaun kicks ass and Katy wonders who the heck this guy is!
Shaun needs to go to Macao to protect his sister, Xialing (Meng’er Zhang), trom these same thugs…..and Katy goes along with him.
Then all hell breaks loose as………

“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” is a stupendous movie! Thrilling action, Awkwafina being Awkwafina, beautiful scenery and wonderful fight sequences. Not a dull moment with lots of action and peril with cool tie-ins to the Marvel Universe. The cast is terrific especially Awkwafina, Simu Liu, and Meng’er Zhang.
Watch the end credits all the way through as we find out who the next evil…..oh, nevermind. It’s too shocking to mention here. 😉
