Auden (Emma Pasarow) is a loner.
She prefers being by herself, or with her mother Victoria (Andie MacDowell), rather than with teens her own age.
In the fall, Auden is off to college, but, she wants more from this coming summer and decides to spend it with her dad, Robert (Dermot Mulroney) and his new wife, Heidi (Kate Bosworth) and their baby, in Colby, North Carolina.
Colby is a small tourist town on the coast….the perfect place for Auden to bring out the new Auden:
Outgoing and fun to be with.
Ah……no.
Well……maybe.
Not able to sleep, Auden heads to a bench near the beach late at night….to read.
Where she meets fellow insomniac, Eli (Belmont Cameli), riding his bike on the boardwalk.
Eventually…….
They decide to take in the sights of a sleeping Colby and venture out on their own quest.

“Along for the Ride” is a movie based on a book by one of Kristen’s favorite authors: Sarah Dessen. It’s a nice movie about…..life…..dealing with the loss of a loved one……and realizing that your life still needs to lived.
