A.J. Fikry’s (Kunal Nayyar) wife passed away a year ago.
Since then, AJ has been drowning his sorrows in booze and letting his beautiful little bookstore go to crap.
The new sales representative for a book publisher, Amelia (Lucy Hale), has to travel 5 hours to get to AJ’s Alice Island bookstore.
On her first day visiting, she brings him a book she loves, and AJ, being his depressed self, blows her off.
One day, AJ finds a chatty intelligent 2 year old girl, Maya, in the bookstore with a note. Apparently, the girl’s mom wants her to grow up with books and people who love books.
AJ takes her in…and his life changes!
So much so that he is even open for a relationship….with Amelia!

“The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry” is brilliant, sad, surprising, shocking, movie based on a book about books and the people who love books. Have tissue available…..a LOT of tissue. The cast is amazing!
