Movie Review: “The School for Good and Evil”

Best friends since they were very young, Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie) both love to read, but, other than that….they could not be more different.

Sophie, a seamstress, yearns to leave her oppressed upbringing in Gavaldon and become a Princess.

Agatha is being groomed by her mother to be a witch.

Sophie, Agatha

One night they learn about a young girl who….20 years ago…..was taken from the town never to be seen again. The common thinking is that she was taken to the fabled School for Good and Evil on the night of the blood moon……but, no proof of that school exists.

Sophie figures she has nothing to lose by wishing she could be taken away to that school.

So she leaves a note in the wish tree, and……..

Well….be careful what you wish for….as she and Agatha (who was trying to save Sophie) are taken on a blood moon night by the sorting hat….errr, sorting bird to the School for Good and Evil.

The only problem is……they end up in the wrong houses:

Sophie in Evil, and Agatha in Good.

WTF!

Then……

Oh, to find out what happens you can stream this movie on Netflix. 🙂

“The School for Good and Evil” is an interesting fantasy that initially reminded me of Harry Potter, hmmmmm, totally reminded me of Harry Potter and Once Upon a Time, but, it was ultimately a fun movie with a cool ending.

True loves kiss….is not what you think. 🙂
