Every year the residents of Candy Cane Lane compete for the best Christmas yard decorations.
This year, there is an extra incentive to win as the local cable TV outlet is covering the festivities and will judge the winner of the $50,000 prize.
For the Carver family, that incentive is even stronger as Chris (Eddie Murphy) has been laid off while his wife, Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), on the bright side, is up for a promotion. The older kids Joy (Genneya Walton) and Nick (Thaddeus J. Mixon) are either in college are are going next year. The family’s only hope to keep the Christmas spirit alive for next year is Holly (Madison Thomas) who is still young enough to believe (see featured image up top).
Looking for ornaments….Chris and Holly find a store….”Kringles” run by a slightly weird woman, Pepper (Jillian Bell).
Purchasing a ton of stuff, Chris is forced to sign the receipt not knowing that he has indeed signed his life away….as miniature past customers, Pip (Nick Offerman), Lamplighter Gary (Chris Redd), and Cordelia (Robin Thede) can attest.

Gotta read that fine print!
Then……
Oh, to find out what happens you can stream the movie on Amazon Prime. 🙂
“Candy Cane Lane” is a fun Eddie Murphy comedy with lots of interesting Christmas ornaments (from the song: “12 days of Christmas”) coming to life and wreaking havoc.
We loved it!
